Care Guide

Caring for Your Re:Made lead

Your Re:Made rope lead is built for adventure, crafted from premium climbing ropes like Mammut® and Beal® for durability and style. A little care goes a long way in keeping it ready for every walk, hike, and muddy trail.

Cleaning Instructions:

1. Regular Maintenance:

After every adventure, give your lead a quick shake to remove dirt and debris. It’s an easy way to keep it looking fresh between deeper cleans.

2. Spot Cleaning:

For light marks, simply wipe the rope with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals—they can weaken the rope fibers and damage the finish.

3. Deep Cleaning:

Remove the Leather: Unscrew and detach the leather detail before cleaning. This keeps it in top condition.

Prepare a Mild Soapy Bath: Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add a small amount of gentle soap.

Clean Carefully: Submerge the rope but avoid soaking the end caps to preserve their structure. Gently agitate the rope in the water.

Scrub Stubborn Spots: Use a soft brush if needed, but be gentle.

Rinse Thoroughly: Run cool water over the rope to remove any soap residue.

4. Drying:

Lay the lead flat on a clean towel in a well-ventilated area.

Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources—these can weaken the rope fibers.

Ensure it’s completely dry before reattaching the leather and using it again.

Extra Tips:

Regularly check for wear, especially near the carabiner and rope ends.

Store your lead in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight.
